the National Speleological Society (NSS-CDS) - The NSS Cave Diving

Response Diving International (ERDI) - TDI was formed in 1994 by some

SDI was created in 1999 and grew out of the success of our sister company

Underwater Federation (CMAS - Confédération Mondiale des Activités
Subaquatiques) - CMAS is the only world diving organization. This
organization is composed of some 14,000 diving clubs, 82 national
federations and 4.5 million divers. In 1980 YMCA SCUBA became a
federation of the World Underwater Federation (CMAS), thus allowing our
instructors and divers the distinct designation of this international
certification. YMCA SCUBA - In
the 40+ years since our inception, YMCA Scuba has continued to provide the
highest level of community-oriented education for divers and instructors
based on the YMCA mission.

Underwater Medicine Society (SPUMS) - The South Pacific Underwater
Medicine Society was founded in the early 1970's. The aims and
objectives of the society are: To promote and facilitate information and
research on all aspects of underwater and hyperbaric medicine. To provide
information on underwater medicine to all interested groups. This includes
diving organizations, industry, the military, as well as, the individual
diver. To promote exchange of information between members on all aspects
of underwater medicine and related subjects and to publish a quarterly
Journal. To convene members annually at a Scientific Conference.
The
Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS) - The Undersea and
Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS) is the primary source of information for
diving and hyperbaric medicine physiology worldwide. It was
founded as the Undersea Medical Society in 1967 but in 1986 changed the
name to Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society. The name change
reflects the rapidly growing interest in hyperbaric oxygen physiology and
therapy. The UHMS's purpose is to provide scientific information to
protect the health of sport, military and commercial divers and to
improve the scientific basis of hyperbaric oxygen therapy, promote sound
treatment protocols and standards of practice and provide CME
accreditation.

Underwater-society
- The Underwater Society of America was formed in 1959 by the
existing skin-diving councils; it was composed of and represented all
divers in North America. It is the public diving organization of the
United States. It is controlled by its executive committee, board of
directors and delegates of the member councils and clubs meeting annually.
Currently there are some thirty councils/clubs in the Society. (The clubs
are usually formed to play an underwater sport.) The Society functions to
give national recognition to divers.
